Why a site must be maintained
A website isn’t a poster you print once: it’s living software, made of components that age. Over time technologies update, plugins become obsolete, security holes appear. Without maintenance, a site that works today is slow, full of errors and vulnerable within a year. Maintaining it costs a fraction of rebuilding or emergency-repairing it.

Updates: the first line of defence
The first line of defence is updates: of the system, the plugins, the themes. Most attacks exploit holes that are already known and already fixed, on sites that haven’t been updated. Keeping everything on the latest version — methodically, testing that nothing breaks — slams the door on most intrusion attempts. It’s tedious, but it’s what really protects you.
Is your site updated and protected?
We do a free check-up of your site and tell you how to secure it. We come to you, here in Bassano.

The backup is your safety net: a copy of the site to restart from if something goes wrong — an error, a failed update, an attack. A good plan includes automatic and frequent backups, kept in a safe place separate from the site, and above all tested: a backup you can’t restore is useless. It’s the difference between an hour of inconvenience and weeks of lost work.
Attacks hit small businesses too
“Who would want to attack my little company’s site?”. It’s the most dangerous thought. Most attacks aren’t targeted: they’re bots scanning the web for vulnerable sites, whatever they are. Once inside, they use your site to send spam, scam visitors or demand a ransom. Bassano SMEs are hit exactly like big companies, and are often less prepared.
What to do if the site is hacked
If the site is hacked, the rule is: don’t improvise. Don’t delete files at random, because they’re needed to understand how they got in. The correct procedure is to isolate the site, analyse the attack, clean it, restore from a clean backup and then close the hole. Speed counts: the sooner you act, the less damage you suffer — to ranking, reputation and data. That’s why it helps to already have a contact ready to intervene.
A maintenance plan that lets you sleep
Peace of mind has a name: a maintenance plan. Regular updates, automatic backups, security monitoring and a contact to call when something goes wrong. For a Bassano SME it means not having to worry about the site and being able to think about your work, knowing someone keeps an eye on it. We’re a few minutes from you, and in an emergency we intervene immediately.
